Double stimulation, allows changing the follicular cycle so that follicles can be recruited into the stimulation during the follicular phase and during what would normally be a luteal phase. The approach is usually justified by the ability to obtain more oocytes quicker. Although it is true that the technique allows harvesting of more oocytes within one month than regular stimulation, the data showing improvements in live birth are not convincing.
