New Reproductive Physiology in Action

Egg Quality Improvement Consortium is a group of highly experiences physicians  who tackle cases of poor egg quality using principals of new reproductive physiology originally described in 2020 in the leading US reproductive medicine journal –  Fertility and Sterility. First as an editorial, followed by a major paper that the editors included in a group of selected publications as a “sea change” in reproductive physiology.

From the patient’s perspective, the medications and tests are generally the same as in conventional care. What may differ is how the test results are interpreted, how strategy is built, and how medication timing and dosing are adjusted over time. This approach may involve more monitoring visits and lab checks, because it relies on a more detailed view of what is happening in your cycle. There may be a modest additional cost associated with the extra monitoring.

To qualify, a patient must have had at least one unsuccessful IVF attempt and a diagnosis consistent with “poor egg quality.”

Although the new physiology remains a hypothesis, but the supporting evidence is growing.
